SADC ’ s vision is one of politically stable, socially just and sustainable economic development that reduces poverty in the region and thus makes a contribution to achieving the Millennium Development Goals ( MDGs ) adopted by the United Nations.

At the recent government negotiations between SADC and Germany in 2011, the following priority areas of cooperation were confirmed:

Die Organisation strebt eine politisch stabile, sozial gerechte und nachhaltige wirtschaftliche Entwicklung an, um die Armut in der Region zu bekämpfen und so einen Beitrag zu den Millenniumsentwicklungszielen der Vereinten Nationen zu leisten.

In den jüngsten Regierungsverhandlungen zwischen SADC und Deutschland wurden 2011 folgende Schwerpunkte der Zusammenarbeit bestätigt:
