Mit dem Partizip drücken wir Vorzeitigkeit aus – die Handlung im verkürzten Nebensatz fand also vor der Handlung im Hauptsatz statt.
Das Partizip ist veränderlich (es richtet sich in Numerus und Genus nach dem Beziehungswort).
Beispiel:

The participle is variable (it agrees in number and gender with the word it’s referring to).
