Am 1. Dezember 1736 – kurz nach der Fertigstellung der beeindruckenden Silbermannorgel – gab Thomaskantor Johann Sebastian Bach ein Konzert.

On 1 of December 1736, the choir master of St. Thomas ’ s Church in Leipzig, Johann Sebastian Bach, gave a concert shortly after the completion of the very impressive Silbermann organ to show his gratitude for the conferment on him of the title of a Composer to the Royal Polish and Saxon Courts.
