Die vollständige Umstellung der Energieversorgung auf dem Galapagos-Archipel auf erneuerbare Energien (RE) bis 2020 ist das Ziel der ecuadorianischen Regierungspolitik „Null fossile Treibstoffe auf Galapagos“.
Effizienterer Energieeinsatz, Wind- und Sonnenenergie sowie der Ersatz fossiler Kraftstoffe durch reines Pflanzenöl sind dabei von zentraler Bedeutung.
