Das Centre de Recherche en Physique des Plasmas der EPFL nimmt Forschungsaufgaben im Rahmen der Schweizer Beteiligung am Projekt ITER/Broader Approach wahr.Es wurde 2010 im Hinblick auf die Neuformulierung der Schweizer Strategie für Fusionsforschung evaluiert.
Das PSI nimmt als Nutzerlabor Aufgaben für die Schweizer Forschungslandschaft wahr.
