Dieser Deckel wie auch der umgebende Schutzzaun sind jedoch über die Jahre löchrig geworden, sodass sogar Tiere auf der Abraumhalde weideten und die umgebenden Obstgärten wieder durch Windverfrachtungen von Uranstaub bedroht waren.
