In her early years in Berlin, Lindy Annis was also famous for playing at and with unusual places.
Together with many colleagues, she performed in paternoster lifts in public buildings, in the K.G.B. Klub, in the Gallery SoToDo, at the Fischlabor, at the Institut Unzeit – sites of a subculture that in the first decade of the 21st century became increasingly pushed into the background.
Nowadays, the HAU theatre (Hebbel-am-Ufer) is her stage, or the Fabrik in Potsdam, though she is by no means happy about the loss of so many off-spaces.
