This partial refurbishment will get the youth hostel in shape for the next ten years.
In addition, the municipality of Pontresina and the Swiss Foundation for Social Tourism (Schweizerische Stiftung für Sozialtourismus) have concluded a new, ten-year lease agreement.
Under this agreement, the Swiss Youth Hostels Association will undertake the urgently needed partial refurbishment at a cost of 900,000 francs, and also will take on the future maintenance costs of the Youth Hostel, and the municipality in turn will reduce the rent.
