Distributed Systems Group
Die Distributed Systems Group befasst sich mit Modellen und Konzepten für verteilte Datenverarbeitung , ubiquitäres Computing , „ Internet of Things “ , Architekturen für Sensornetzwerke , Infrastruktur-Unterstützung für intelligente Alltagsgegenstände , Interaktion im intelligenten Umfeld sowie mit Datenschutz- und Sicherheitskonzepten .
Ein besonderes Ziel ist die Einbettung von Rechenleistung in Alltagsgegenstände, um " smart objects " zu schaffen: reale Gegenstände, die einen neuen Zugang zu Informationen ermöglichen, auf ihr Umfeld reagieren und neue Funktionen zur Interaktion mit anderen " smart objects " bereitstellen.

The Distributed Systems Group researches on the broad fields of models and concepts for distributed computations, ubiquitous computing, Internet of Things, architectures for sensor networks, infrastructure support for smart real-world objects, interaction in smart environments, and privacy and security concepts.
One specific goal is to incorporate computing power into everyday objects in order to create " smart things ": real‐world objects that provide novel ways of accessing information, react to their environment, or provide new emergent functionality when interacting with other smart things.
