Besonders sind die Transferprozesse an den Schnittstellen verschiedener Kompartimente wie z. B. Troposphäre / Biosphäre von Interesse.
Im Vordergrund der Arbeiten stehen wichtige radioökologische Prozesse an der Schnittstelle von Troposphäre und Bio-/Geosphäre wie Exhalation aus Böden und Baumaterialien, trockene und nasse Deposition, Aufnahme in Pflanzen über das Blattwerk oder die Wurzel und Resuspension von bereits abgelagertem Material.
Für die Aufnahme und den Transport von Radionukliden in Pflanzen werden auch genetische Faktoren studiert.
