Wenn, wie William Blackstone bereits 1765 geschrieben hat, "The coining of money is in all states the act of sovereign power" (zit. n. Leach 2005), wurde mit der Währungsunion ein Wunsch Realität, dem noch keine Wirklichkeit entspricht.
