Cloud Computing meint abstrahiert die Bereitstellung und Nutzung von IT-Infrastruktur, Plattformen und Anwendungen aller Art als im Internet elektronisch verfügbare Dienste ( Services ).
Der Begriff Cloud Computing soll hierbei als Metapher für das Rechnen innerhalb der „Wolke” gesehen werden, wobei der Teilbegriff Cloud impliziert, dass es sich um Dienste von einem Provider im Internet bzw. im Intranet eines größeren Unternehmens handelt.
