www.dguv.deVon allen Nierentumoren ist das Nierenzellkarzinom ( Renal cell carcinoma, RCC ) mit 90 % das weitaus am häufigsten vorkommende.
Mit der Hilfe von modernen diagnostischen Mittel werden heute immer mehr asymptomatische, kleine Tumoren zufällig gefunden, wobei früher erst die Symptomatik ( Hämaturie, Bauchtumor oder Flankenschmerz ) den Hinweis auf einen bereits weit fortgeschrittenen, grossen Nierentumor gab.
Das Tumorstadium ist nach wie vor der wichtigste prognostische Faktor.
