Gesetzliche Grundlage der Krebsregistrierung in Bayern ist das Bayerische Krebsregistergesetz (BayKrG).
Das Bevölkerungsbezogene Krebsregister Bayern besteht aus einer selbstständigen Vertrauensstelle und einer selbständigen Registerstelle, wodurch ein sehr hoher Datenschutz gewährleistet wird.
