Der damalige Direktor ( Herr Antonín Šprinc ) hat sich um die bestmögliche Zugänglichkeit der Dienstleistungen der Bibliothek verdient gemacht, und daher sind nach und nach auch in den einzelnen Stadtteilen Filialen der Bibliothek entstanden.
Im Jahr 1949 wurde die Stadtbibliothek definitiv in das Gebäude der ehemaligen Hauptmannschaft auf dem Platz náměstí Republiky umgesiedelt.
1952 ist hier eine der ersten Musikabteilungen in tschechischen Volksbibliotheken gegründet worden.
