Untersucht wurden die Gewebeproben von Primärtumoren und Lymphknotenmetastasen von 25 Patienten mit zuvor unbehandelten Plattenepithelkarzinomen des Oropharynx.
Als Methode diente der immunhistochemische Nachweis von ki-67, CD-105, HIF-1α, Carbonic Anhydrase 9 (CA 9) und Thymidin Phosphorylase (TP) mit Hilfe von spezifischen Antikörpern.
Die Auswertung erfolgte Computer assistiert für CD-105 und ki-67 Färbungen.

The amount of staining was classified in four grades by two independent investigators.
