The Colombian development authority in the Valle del Cauca region requested assistance from Chile ’ s environmental regulatory agency CONAMA to address issues of special waste management.
The Colombians were particularly interested in the cooperation model successfully tried and proven in Chile by which private actors and the public sector collaborate in steering groups to jointly plan special waste handling procedures in consensus-based dialogue.
Another example of three-way cooperation can be found in public housing policy.
