The theme of his dissertation was "Einleitung von Querlasten in umfangsversteifte zylindrische Membranschalen mit elliptischer Querschnittsform" ("Injection of radial loads in perimeter-stiffened cylindrical membrane shells with elliptical cross-sectional form").
