Work-placements in German and Polish administrative bodies
Starting from 1992, four-week work-placements were completed by 230 Polish students in German administrative bodies, one half of them each in Berlin and in the Kommunalverband or, respectively the City Government of Kehl.

In 2004 the former “Kommunalverband Ruhrgebiet/KVR“ has been newly founded as „Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR)”.
It is incumbent upon this organisation to coordinate the tasks of the cities and the other administrative bodies on the regional level (e.g. regional planning, regional marketing, regional public relations), to supervise the fields of environment and leisure and the route of industrial culture, as well as to manage the Emscher Landscape Park.
