Da ein ehemalig kurzsichtiger Patient durch eine solche Operation im wesentlichen "normalsichtig" wird, bedarf er auch ab dem Eintritt der sog.Alterssichtigkeit (ab etwa dem 45.-50. Lebensjahr) einer Lesebrille, wie sie jeder von Natur aus normalsichtige Mensch ab diesem Zeitpunkt ebenfalls benötigt.
