1977 wird hier der Skiweltcup ausgetragen, das European Masters im Golf findet 1983 statt ( das Tournier ersetzt das Schweizer Tournier, das es seit 1939 gab ), 1987 finden die Skiweltmeiterschaften statt.
Seit 2004 sind es Rock, Electro und weitere moderne Musik, die während des bunten « Caprices Festival» dem Ort einen frischen Frühlingswind bringen.
Gegenwärtig ist Crans-Montana ein faszinierendes Dorf mit ungefähr 6500 Einwohnern – es sind aber über 15.000, wenn man die Bevölkerung aller sechs Gemeinden, d.h. von Chermignon, Icogne, Lens, Mollens, Montana, Randogne mitzählt.

Today, Crans-Montana is a charming town of around 6,500 inhabitants – over 15,000 for the toal population of the six local communes :
