Bei der Besteigung entpuppt er sich allerdings als fürchterliche Geröllhalde, denn in dieser Gegend gibt es bis über 6000 m keine Gletscher.

Die gerundete Felswand fällt 150 Meter tief auf eine Geröllhalde, und in den Ritzen der Kalksteinschichten klammern sich kühn einzelne Bäume fest. Der Weg, der den Kessel umrundet, führt an der Kante einer losen Steinmauer entlang.
Hier und da fehlt nur noch ein knapper Meter bis zum Abgrund.

Der Weg geht auf Felsplatten, die in Richtung Val Comera ausgerichtet sind, weiter.
