An den folgenden Tagen setzte sich der Kampf an den Rändern und in den Strassen von Douaumont fort, bis es endlich am 04. März vom brandenburgischen Infanterie-Regiment 52 ( Cottbus ) und von dem westpreußischen Pionier-Bataillon 12 ( Graudenz ) eingenommen werden konnte.
